New Moon in Leo 8/16/23
New Moons are times of setting intentions and goals for growth.
Even as I write the word goal, I remember a quote from Dr. Greg Wells' book The Ripple Effect.
"Dreams are more powerful than goals – despite goal setting being our traditional method for building self-motivation."
I believe that the difference is that goals are primarily left-brain driven and dreams use both sides of the brain.
So let me say, that New Moons are the times when we dream new dreams and begin the work and play that brings them to life.
Leo is a center-stage sign, but that doesn't mean that you have to be in the limelight per se if that is not your gig. But everyone has a stage of sorts, even if it's more of an introverted or behind the scenes kind of stage.
Leo's biggest strength is the one of playfulness. Leo is the consummate cat, and if you have cats they are all about play. Watch kittens with each other and you will notice that even their fighting is play.
It is through play that we learn the skills for meeting the world.
The New Moon in Leo is a time to embrace the muse of our inner child and harness the power of play. So, I invite you, as a Leo myself, to think about your dreams and begin to play at them. Play act them. Play! Play! Play!
What are you "working" on? How can you bring more right brain play into your left-brain work? What are you hoping to accomplish in the next month? What does play look like to you? Use your imagination to explore possibilities!
